My personal message

Every minute a woman dies needlessly from pregnancy or childbirth complications. Nearly all these deaths occur in the developing world where women do not have adequate resources or status to ensure a safe delivery. For the past eight months I have witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by mothers in the developing world. As an intern with Save the Mothers (STM) in Uganda, my eyes have been opened to the reality of maternal mortality. It is unacceptable. On May 10th in Mukono, Uganda, I will be joining my fellow STM intern, Victoria Shaw, my friend Aliza Latta and others in Save the Mothers' Annual Mother's Day Walk. The event, is to raise awareness and support for maternal and child health. Our Ugandan Team is called Sindika, which means "push" in the local language. We will be walking up nearby "Monkey Hill." Please support me in the effort to affirm no mother or her child should die. Check out my blog post on this walk at: http://www.crossroads360.com/article-what-is-the-value-of-a-mothers-life-/222221 To find out more please visit www.savethemothers.org.
