My personal message

Dear Friends and Family: My parents and I have supported and volunteered for the Lab Rescue since 2000, when we adopted our first beautiful yellow lab girl, Biscuit. Kasey was our next one (our first "failed-foster-by-adopting"), and our latest additions are Hank and Bea (pictured). We have also temporarily fostered a handful of labs until they were adopted by others. We have helped at various adoption and Dog Walk events, and Mom has volunteered much of her time and energy as both an Adoption Coordinator and a Pet Finder. All labs taken in by the Lab Rescue are either adopted or temporarily fostered by volunteers until they can be adopted by someone. This non-profit organization survives on donations and volunteers. Donations go towards veterinary costs during intake. In 2014, they took in over 1,000 labs, the majority from kill shelters, some from puppy mills, and others from owner give-ups who could no longer care for them (voluntarily or involuntarily through animal control). As of May 2015, they have taken in 400 labs, and it is very likely to surpass 1,000 again by year’s end. Lab Rescue of LRCP (Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac) is headquartered in the DC area, taking in labs from the Mid-Atlantic region (as far north as Pennsylvania, south as North Carolina, and west as West Virginia). My family is raising funds for this year’s Lab Rescue Dog Walk. If you care to donate to my team, please click "Sponsor me now!" The Dog Walk is a fun day for dogs and people; feel free to join us in Annapolis! All breeds and rescue dogs from other organizations are welcome. Thank you for your support! :) Even if you do not wish to donate, a share is helpful as well.
