Can I volunteer on the day of the event?
Yes!! We would not be ale to run these events with out the help of many volunteers. If you would like to sign up to volunteer. Please email mcourtney@dlhospice.org.

What do we do if the weather is not cooperating?
Hike is a rain or shine event! No matter what the weather is, we will have a great time! If it does happen to rain, be sure to bring proper rain gear to stay as dry as possible.... who are we kidding though, it won't rain on us, right?! On the flip side, please be sure to bring sun protection as well. Hats and sunscreen are encouraged!

I'm Hungry!!
Have no fear, we will look after you and your tummy on hike day. A light breakfast will be served compliments of Cobbs Bread and a delish lunch will be offered directly after the hike compliments of Bruno's Fine Foods. Along the Hike route, there will be water and snacks provided as well to make sure you keep your energy up!

Can I bring my furry four legged family member?
Yes!! We encourage all family members to join the hike, pets included. Please be sure to pick up after your pet at all times. Waste bins will be provided along the route, as well as at the home base.

I have collected all my donations, now what do I do with them?!
All donations collected online will automatically be tracked. Donations online can be made up until one week after the Hike. Any cash donations collected can be turned in on the morning of Hike. If you have cash donations to hand in, please be sure to arrive early so that our wonderful team of volunteers can have everything tallied by the end of the event.

Where can I park on the day of the event?
Parking directly behind the hospice in the trillium parking lot will be free of charge on the day of the event. One of our trusty volunteers will be at the gate to raise it for you. Keep an eye out for the balloons and signs that will direct you there.

I planned on coming, but now I can't make it, what do I do?
Have no fear! We know how busy life can get at times! You are still encouraged to collect donations, and when you are able, honor your commitment, and do a 5km walk wherever and whenever you can. Cash donations can be turned into the hospice the week of the Hike

Is the route accessible?
Yes! We have worked hard to ensure that the route is accessible to all. Feel free to bring your mobility equipment, bikes, strollers, etc.

Can I bring friends who haven't registered online prior to the day?
Yes! Come one come all. The more the merrier. We will have registration on the morning of the event to accommodate those who have not registered online. Please arrive early to ensure that you get through registration in time for the Hike kick-off.
