Founded in 1971 by a group of concerned parents and community members, ErinoakKids Centre for Treatment and Development was established to provide care for children with disabilities in the community. Today, we have grown to become Ontario's largest Children's Treatment Centre (CTC), serving more than 15,000 children with disabilities and their families each year.
A lifeline to those we are privileged to serve, ErinoakKids provides a comprehensive array of medical, therapy and support services to help children and youth with disabilities from birth to age 19. Our diverse staff of more than 700 trained professionals are extraordinarily dedicated to the care and support of our clients and families.
Virtually every child with a disability who lives in our catchment area will be touched by the services of ErinoakKids. We provide physiotherapy, occupational therapy, autism, speech and language, infant hearing, medical, vision services and more. Our goal is to help each child we serve build on his or her unique strengths and maximize opportunities for independence, health and well-being.
At ErinoakKids, our clients and families also have access to a wide range of support services that assist children as they grow, and their families as they meet the challenges of raising a child with a disability. These vital support services are made available through the philanthropic generosity of individuals, businesses, service groups, charitable foundations and others.
This support will be increasingly important over the next year as we build three new purpose-built facilities, one in Brampton, another in Mississauga and a third in Oakville. These facilities, scheduled to open in late 2017/early 2018, will ensure our children and youth have access to be/er coordinated services to help them reach their true potential.
