Frequently Asked Questions About the Walk
Question: How do I get to the Walk?
Easy. Remember the Walk is being Held at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, MD.
Once you're there, just tell the Park Ranger that you're taking part in the Lab Rescue Dog Walk and they'll get you set on the right path.
Question: Is there Parking Available? What Happens if Parking is full?
Quiet Waters has lots of parking lots available and our Leader of the Pack sponsor, Friends of Lab Rescue, are providing shuttle service throughout the day for you and your dogs so that you can easily get to the registration area and back to your car when you leave.
We will put up cones at the Red Maple lot when it is full and other parking lots are along the roadway; in order you'll head towards the Sycamore lot and the White Oaks lot. There are a couple of parking lots along the way.
It takes about 10-15 minutes to loop the entire parking area so just be patient and a bus will appear.
Question: Once in the Park, where is the Walk?
We have reserved the Red Maple and Sassafras pavilion areas. There are washroom facilities and and open area for our vendors, sponsors and food trucks.
Head for the registration tables to let us know you're there and then snack, visit, shop and take advantage of everything being offered this year.
Question: Will I Be Able to Get Lunch?
Yes! We are happy to offer several food and snack options for you to enjoy. Remember to bring cash for lunch!
- Anabel's Mobile Kitchen - lots of lunch options including epanadas, sandwiches, and salads
- Slider Girl - lots of sandwich options

Question: How long is the walk?
A. While there are more than 6 miles of wooded trails at Quiet Waters Park, the trail that we use has an easy 1 mile loop that many choose to take. It's also a nice wide trail that runs through the woods so staying cool should be easy. For those dogs that might be older and not able to walk as far, you can turn back at any time.
In fact, many Labs come for the company and never make it onto the trail because they decide to play and then rest so they can play when everyone comes off the trail.
Question: What time does the walk start and end?
Check-in begins at 10:00 AM and the walk officially starts at 11:00 AM. Most people take the opportunity to browse the on-site vendors before and after the walk and to grab a bite to eat (there will be food trucks, a bake sale, and more). We also have pools for the dogs to take a dip and more. The event usually wraps up around 2:00 PM.

Question: What are the CGC and Advanced CGC tests and how do I register for my dog to take the test? (To be finalized)
Dogs who pass the 10-step Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test can earn a certificate and/or the official AKC CGC title. This title is often a prerequisite for any dog becoming a certified therapy dog. The Advanced CGC test, also known as the AKC Community Canine is the advanced level of the AKC's Canine Good Citizen Program. Dogs who pass the AKE Community Canine test earns the official AKC Community Canine title that is designated by the letters "CGCA" on the dog's title record.
You can pre-register by emailing Sydney (recommended) and walk-up appointments are also available. You can pay for the test at the CGC Test tent when you check in at the walk by cash or check, made payable to Lab Rescue.
